Cameron White has expressed about his own decline from Australia's ODI squad as a "kick in the guts", but he stays as captain of the Twenty20 side for the approaching tour of Sri Lanka. Australia have called the players for the one-day and T20 division of the tour, with Shaun Marsh back in the one-day side together with the fast bowler Doug Bollinger.
The chief error from the one-day company was that of White, who lost form across the last home summer, worked hard at the World Cup and was dropped halfway throughout the Bangladesh series. For all these reasons, he did not anticipate to be absent while the ODI squad was pronounced.
"Definitely frustration but the circumstances been identified and there's not enough you can do about it, other than go back, get better and wish to acquire another prospect at some stage," White understood. "It is no hidden that I haven't been in the best of figure of late but I was expectant I would still be in the squad. It's absolutely a kick in the guts."
Now faced with the probability of getting a T20 proficient, white believed he would be working particularly tough to come back to the ODI ground.
"I don't have a lot of cricket for a little while now," he revealed. "Outside of a couple of T20 games I will be back playing for Victoria and scoring as many runs as I can. I just have to go back and get better and optimistically get another chance at some stage.
