[ Srilankan extra-ordinary batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan is going to start his first test series mission as a new captain of srilanka ]
Srilankan unique Batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan is very much interested to become the first Sri Lanka captain to protect a Test series winning in England after leaving from the IPL [ Indian premier league ] 2011 rapidly to guide his team properly. Although they notably won the one-off clash at The Oval in 1998, while extra-ordinary and world famous spinner Muttiah Muralitharan took 16 wickets, their best consequences in a series on English soil is the 1-1 in 2006 which was again sheltered thanks to a match winning endeavor by Muralitharan Trent Bridge.
But this time there is no Muralitharan; even Dilshan has undertaken not to take a backward step over the next month. "Beating England in their own circumstances in the early part of summer is not going to be easy, we will have to play very smart cricket to achieve that," he said. "But I am totally in no doubt with our boys. As a team we may provide England a good quality run. It's an excellent challenge for everyone. Before the team leaves for England I will have a word with my players. We are going there with only one purpose - to be successful the series. We are not going there just to draw or to survive in England at all rather we are willing to thrash them. We are going to England with that mindset. I am seriously looking forward to the approaching series."
How strong-minded Dilshan is with his latest duty can be judged by the fact that he has made himself available to guide his team for the three-day tour opener, against Middlesex, starting on May 14 which meant cutting short his commitments with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing IPL tournament in India.
